'Collect and Win'winner collects £200 vouchers

Travelling in to collect her telephone directory has proved a worthwhile trip for one Cable & Wireless customer.

Debbie Bretel was just one of hundreds of people who entered the ‘Collect and Win’ competition held by Cable & Wireless, to win £200 worth of travel vouchers.

Miss Bretel entered the competition when she collected her free telephone directory from the Cable & Wireless offices.

‘It was a lovely surprise to win the competition and I’m really glad I collected my directory. The vouchers will be going towards a Christmas shopping expedition!’ She said.

The directories were extremely popular and over 34,000 were collected during the first two weeks of distribution in April. As always, directories were delivered to business customers and advertisers, raising the number of directories distributed to over 53,000 in the first two weeks alone.

Cable & Wireless’ Marketing Manager Steve Eldridge said he was delighted with the response from customers.

‘We didn’t want to assume that everybody wanted to have the directory delivered. In the past, customers have always said they preferred the choice. By encouraging them to collect or request it we were able to give people that choice. The competition acted as an additional incentive for all those who collected their copy.’

More books have since been collected since May, demonstrating the unquestionable popularity for the Cable & Wireless telephone directory.
